do you think using binoculars are effective in finding out the distance a golf ball traveled?

It happens sometimes when I go to the driving range when I drive a ball, it goes so far that it seems to disappear into the sky without coming back down. Do you have any other methods to track how far a ball was driven?

Does anyone know the compression rating of a Nike One platinum or a Slazenger Raw Distance golf ball?

Filed Under (Corporate Logo Golf Balls) by admin on 21-04-2011

I have a swing speed of 121 mph and I’m looking for a good ball for my speed. My drives average 310-330. I heard both of these balls have high compression but can’t find any numbers for them. If anyone knows where I can find ratings for them, I’d greatly appreciate it!

How come everytime I hit my golf ball with my irons, the ball only goes around the same distance?

Filed Under (Corporate Logo Golf Balls) by admin on 24-03-2011

I used to swing with an outside to in swing which caused my ball to go to the left. Now my instructor has straightened it out but my ball only goes around 100 – 130 yards, this is really weird for me because I’m used to atleast hitting 145 for with my 7. Now its hitting like 110. I have no idea why because I am hitting down on the ball with good force and I’m using my shoulders. One thing I notice is that the ball goes up a little higher when I increase the iron. Also if it helps my driver has become alot more better, becoming more straight and further. I used to hit it about 200 now it is hitting about 225. Also if you can solve one more thing, my 5 wood I”m unable to hit straight but my driver I can? thats really weird because my 5 used to be my most consistent club. It usually goes out to the left. Any tips would be appreciated, thank you!

What are distance golf balls

In most cases, the type of golf equipment you use will depend on your experience, skill and to a certain extent personal preference. In particular, beginners who will likely have a high handicap or those with a mid-level handicap might look at ways to lower their scores with the tools they have to hand. A good example of this is to use a distance golf ball.

A lot of people that switch to using a distance golf ball find that they are able to drop several shots from their score simply because they are able to get closer to the hole as the ball flies further. Their construction are quite similar to any other ball but they do have some redeeming features which gives them the ability to reach these long distances.

Distance golf ball design

Distance balls are usually made with a two piece design although you can get several three piece distance balls that perform just as well. The core is probably the most important part in one of these golf balls as it is here the extra distance comes from.

This design isnt just to make it go further though – it also helps to keep the manufacturing costs down.

The coating on a distance ball

The coating is just as important as the core as it protects the ball. If the ball isnt in good condition is is likely to have its flight and distance impacted quite a lot – cuts on the coating being the main contributor to this. Luckily, however, these balls are given strong and durable covers so they can withstand the repeated impact of being hit with a golf club time and time again. These are usually Ionomer, Surly or Urethane as testing has proven that these are the best for the job.

Not only that, but because they are protected so well it means you dont need to being too concerned about having to keep yourself supplied with new ones all the time.

Which distance golf ball?

Usually, The compression rating will help you to pick the right ball. When you strike a golf ball, the part that gets hit becomes flattened. When it is in the air, the side will go back its shape and in turn releases the energy that was contained in the core from the initial strike. This propels the ball forward which gives it the extra distance. This is how the compression rating is given and the number signifies how easy it is to flatten the side.

A low compression rating signifies that it is a softer ball. If you do not have a fast and powerful swing you will need a softer ball, or one with a lower rating. You can often get the right ball by getting one that matches your swing speed.

It is worth remembering that most distance golf balls reduce the spin on the ball to aid its flight. If the ball is spinning in the air, it is a sign it has been sliced or slightly mishit. The outcome of this is that the ball curves because of the spin so your shot will be off target.

As many distance balls negate this effect the result is longer and straighter (more accurate) shots.

With that said, this can also impact your control and shotmaking abilities. You may find that you have less control as a result of this, though it is a small tradeoff and you should improve your handicap more by hitting the ball further, generally speaking.

Things to consider when buying quality kitchen knives

It can be quite a job to find your first set of quality kitchen knives. Unfortunately, one of the best ways to decide if its the one for you is to actually use it, which is rather hard in a shop. If you take care to buy good cutlery it should last you for a long time so it is sometimes worth spending a little extra.
